In aboriginal culture, winter fun included storytelling, games to develop hunting skills, and helping around the home.
Join us for a fun -filled hike and some aboriginal activities.

 

Groundhog Day

Groundhog Day! : Learn about these amazing creatures, while we go on a hike to see if any have emerged. We'll discover some of the lore behind Groundhog day and also learn about how other animals are spending the long cold winter nights.

Take a walk into the forest or by the pond to see what animals are waking up after a long cold winter. Look for signs of white-tailed deer, squirrels, butterflies, toads and more!

Explore Kortright to find spring wildflowers and learn about these fantastic plants that signal the start of spring.

Discover your inner artist as you create music and art using items found in nature and professional instruments.

Use the wind's energy to fly kites, or pump water while riding a bike as you try to match the energy produced by the wind and sun.

Visit Kortright's working organic farm. Learn to make soil and take home a pot with seeds ready to grow.
