A Three-Hour Experience!
Join Ameeta Dudani, mental health professional and mindfulness/yoga teacher, for this three-hour mini retreat.
The session will begin with a gentle hatha yoga practice (suitable for all levels) held indoors by a cozy fireplace, and then transition to a forest therapy walk outdoors.
Feel restored, invigorated and nourished — inspired by the forest and by the process of connecting with stillness and balancing the body, mind and soul. The program is designed for adults of all ages and abilities; no previous experience is necessary. Mature teens are also welcome.
Forest therapy is a concept based upon the Japanese practice of shinrin yoku (“forest bathing”): immersing oneself in nature – or more specifically, the forest – and connecting in a deep, gentle way that allows for inner and outer healing.
The retreat ends with a ritual tea (or hot cocoa) ceremony and sharing of our experiences, to honour the collective experience and the land that supports us.
NOTE: It is important to wear comfortable clothing, dress in layers, and appropriate to the weather. Individuals of all ages and abilities are able to participate. No particular fitness level or previous experience is needed –- simply an openness.
The mini retreat and forest walk will be held rain, snow or shine with a minimum of 5 and maximum of ten registrants.
