Nature Experience
Explore and learn about the natural world through an immersive nature experience. Guided by an experienced leader, you could learn about trees, birds and discover the myriad creatures that live in a pond.

Survival Skills
Learn the basics of survival in this hands-on program. Understand how to build a fire, make shelters, and more.

Mapping and Orienteering
In this active program, you will be introduced to the basic features found on most maps (symbols, lines, scales, title, date, map grid). You will then learn and practice map and orienteering skills such as reading a map, orientating maps in the correct direction, and following a map route.

Insects
Ambush bugs, Tiger beetles, Dragonflies and Painted Lady Butterflies: just some of the fascinating insects and invertebrates you may see and learn about during this hands-on program. Participants will be given the opportunity to catch, observe and release a variety of insects in different habitats.

PLEASE NOTE: TRCA Outdoor Family Experiences have a maximum capacity of FOUR families to ensure physical distancing can be maintained between households participating in the program. Family experiences at Kortright are entirely outdoors and physical distancing between staff and participants outside of your household will be required for the duration of your experience.
