HALLOWEEN NATURE WALK

HALLOWEEN NATURE WALK
January 29, 2018 David Todd

Have you ever wondered why we dress in fanciful costumes, go out trick-or-treating and carve pumpkins for Halloween? Come and discover the history and natural basis for our Halloween traditions, legends and practices.

Learn through stories and actitivies how many of the Halloween customs and symbols we use today are based upon cycles in the natural world. Students visiting at this time of year will experience the magical quality of our forest setting as the leaves turn from green to brilliant reds, golds and oranges.

The emphasis of this program is secular folklore and the seasonal changes in nature as they relate to Halloween and associated customs through the ages.
